Puffballs and me complaining about my wrist.
I recently received a custom order for a crochet baby beanie and bootie set. Three strands of yarn is quite hard on my wrist and I don’t look forward to doing it again if I can help it. I could have made the tension looser, but the bulk of yarn made it a bit difficult to ensure the sizing was correct all the way around, so I had to reign in my tension and keep things tighter than I wanted. However, the end result is absolutely darling, so it was worth it in my opinion!
I used a cotton/acrylic blend (from this post) in pink, green, and brown. I love how muted yet distinct the colors are.
Here’s a close-up of the stitch. Nothing too crazy, just a half-double crochet, but I love the way it looks with the colors.
Baby booties, size 2-ish.
The set together. I love how there’s a lot of masculine color, but just enough pink to make the set obviously girly.
Because I used a cotton/acrylic blend, the set is machine washable. I try to always make my items washable, because who wants to dry clean a baby hat? Not I, and not any other parent I know.
